A couple of weeks ago I ordered Zakka Sewing by Therese Laskey and Chika Mori. I was so thrilled when it arrived yesterday. The projects look great and the photography is stunning…
This little basket is so cute…
And the sashiko on this tea towel is so lovely and simple.
I really love this pear motif, though I think I would prefer it on a apron.
I also ordered Lets Make Cute Stuff by Aranzi Aronzo which I have found really inspiring. I love how animated all their designs are, yet also very naive looking.
I have been so busy this week, Daniel is on leave and the last two days I have sewed all day as I am hoping to get some things ready for an upcoming market. The Janome is being a bit monstrous, skipping stitches, and doing other weird things. I am so looking forward to when I can get my dream machine, The Bernina. Hopefully I’ll have a load of completed softies to show off later in the week.

I have that zakka book and it’s just darling. I agree with you about the pears – I’ve often thought that too!
I have the same book-lovely isn’t it? You might also like “Omiage” by Kumiko Sudo. Gorgeous xx
What a sweet book! Good luck with the market!
Oh, I’ve been eyeing off that book for a while. Do post anything you make from it!
love the tea towel! you’ll have to bring the book along to the next craft room would love to flip through. -kb
oooh I loove that book! When my machine starts to skip stitches it means I need to change needles or use a different thread.
That looks like a wonderful book! I love those kind of books, the photography is stunning. I’m looking forward to see what you are going to make from it.
I have the Zakka book and really love it. I’ve made the little basket (it was the first thing to catch my eye). It is deceptively small though (but obviously you can enlarge the template…..). I also love the bird applique cushion, but from what I’ve just read on your blog, you’re probably going to give that one a miss!
Love zakka sewing. I really would love to make the Merci apron.
Great books! They look very inviting. 🙂
