Remember the sandy balcony post and the secret project I was working on… I’m really excited to share that my Oliver Owl pattern will be featured in the March edition of Patchwork and Stitching Magazine, on sale from the 19th of March.

Rachel

All the Owls in my stores have just been marked down by 30%.  The Give a Hoot sale lasts until Monday evening.  This will be your last chance to get your hands on a The Two Windmills Owl as I won’t be making any more, so snap one up while you can!

Not its not at the base of tree in the sun… though that would be nice.  This week I am working on a few projects…

My new Lion softie, I was excited to think that there aren’t many Lion softies around, but Rosalie pipped me at the post.

My first garment!!!  A denim wrap around skirt from McCall’s 5430 .  Hopefully it will look as good as Sarah’s.

And some owls for an order.

As always thanks to Kirsty for hosting.

My toys displayed at The Big Brekky Cafe,  Petersham.  They are available here and here.

The first of a batch of six varied robots.  At the moment all my robots have blue eyes… I’m not sure why, perhaps it reminds me of my blue eyed boys.

My newest batch of owls including Maude in mauve corduroy with My Folklore wings.

I’m madly sewing this week as a selection of my softies are to be displayed at a local cafe at the end of this week.

Hopefully I’ll have more Robots and things to show tomorrow.

Ps.  it was a stunning day in Sydney today (as evidenced by my pics), I’m hanging out for summer…

Well this last weekend was lovely.  Saturday was a long day of sewing, and on Sunday we went to the markets here and ate spinach and fetta Gozleme for lunch.

I have nearly finished the surprise, its at the editing stage now.

I pieced some blocks for my new couch quilt.  I am using a honey bun of Wonderland by MoMo.  I did take some pictures but the light wasn’t good enough.  So I’ll try again tomorrow.

I finished some softies including Henrietta the pink Hippo

Henrietta will go into my online stores tomorrow morning.

I was also busy opening a Made It store on the weekend for Australian customers.  It currently has a couple of Owls in it including this one

Anyhow thats enough shameless self promotion for now.

Having a giveaway was so much fun.  Thankyou to all who entered, and those who linked back to me.  I wish I could let you all win.

Unfortunately there can only be one winner.  And the winner of the Blue Owl and mystery fat quarter is Lucy who commented “Wow- I’d love to enter! And I’ve linked back to my blog too. How is it that I only just discovered your blog? It’s fabulous. You are sooooo going on my sidebar!”.

To those of you who missed out I am planning another giveaway in a week and a half to celebrate my birthday, so keep checking back.

Rachel

Well its finally that time.  I have been promising a giveaway, and here it is.  Blogging about my craft, and meeting all of you via blogging has meant so much to me, and been so inspiring to my creativity.

To thank you all I will be giving away one of my blue Oliver Owls.  I will also throw in a surprise fat quarter.

To enter simply comment on this post.  For an extra entry mention it on your blog with a link back here (please also mention that you will do this when commenting).

The winner will be drawn on Tuesday 9th June 2009 at 10am (Sydney Australia time) and will be announced later that day via this blog.

Entry is open internationally.

Good luck!

Today I’m in planning mode.  I have some sketches f0r a new softie I’m working on.

Some fabric for some cushions for the boys room

And yet another owl that I was stuffing last night at The Craft Room.

I should have put a picture of the computer in as well because I’ve been in front of it most of the morning putting robots on etsy.

By the way I’m loving picnik collages at the moment thanks to Lucy’s great tutorial.

Thanks to Kirsty for hosting and everyone else joining in.

Rachel

I don’t like birds.  Sure I like making owls, the spool mobile bird, and have lots of fabric with birds on it.  But I don’t particularly like them in the flesh.

I think it started when as kids my sister and were often swooped on by magpies whilst riding our bikes.

Then at uni a magpie bailed me up for my lunch once.  Its not only magpies though, pidgeons freak me out (honestly they are like rats), and I couldn’t count the numbers of times seagulls have pooped on me.

Anyhow can you imagine my horror recently when two seagulls planted themselves on the bonnet of my car as I ate Macdonalds in the car (classy I know, but I was in a rush between appointments).

I shooed them with my hand…. they did not move.

I beeped my horn… they did not move.

They sat there intently watching me, I suppose expecting that I would feed them.

And indeed they sat there until I got so freaked out that I drove away.

I don’t think it is a full blown phobia yet, but I don’t think it would take too many more incidents.  What do you think?
