This weekend (especially today) I’m grateful for my family. Its been a while now since the move (Oct 2010) and the boys are home with me every day.. EVERY DAY! I know I am not the only one in this predicament, like many my husband works long hours, and I am trying to run a business of sorts, but I am sure you all can understand sometimes my children make me go a little crazy, or should I say BANSHEE.
There is hope on the horizon, their preschool is opening any week now. The boys already have places but there is no confirmed start date and it may not be till after Easter.
So when Dan told me that he was going into work on Saturday morning, there was a toddler style tantrum words. I called my mum and she sent my 14 year old sister around for the day. She was thrilled to come, they did painting, watched DVDs and played trains. At any rate who would not want to spend the day with this pair…
I had a lovely day sewing and have almost finished my MoMo quilt.
You can join in at Maxabella Loves.
Ps you might have noticed Hamish’s Echino shorts, I made them both a pair and haven’t ever got around to blogging them. Aren’t they super cool.
If you want to see more of my sewing room and fabric stash, pop over to Shruti’s where I did a guest post showing my sewing room, and fabric storage system. There are also some great giveaways over there.
Because every post needs a picture I’ll leave you with this picture of a gigantic lizard that I found in our garden.

Hey there,
Its been a busy week. The kids and I are a bit sick are all suffering from a cold, so there’s been lots of days at home this week. Which means the kids are having afternoon naps and I’m even getting some sneaky sewing in when they are playing happily in the playroom… it happens occasionally…..
So I have been sewing heaps
I am working on a dressing gown. Previously we lived in an apartment and it never really got very cold. The new house is a cold house, as it has loads of windows, no carpet, and inadequate curtains, so I am finding the mornings quite cold.
This is to be a summer weight robe made from Laura Gunn’s beautiful Poppy print
I still need to hem the sleeves, and bottom, and also to make the belt and belt loops. Its coming along quite nicely though. The pattern I am using is the Bathrobe pattern from Amy Butlers In Stitches book.
Also I am working on a really a new doll. I have never made girly dolls to sell before so designing it is a nice change
I finished version 1 last night and it still needs a little work
And lastly I have a pair of shorts for Hamish cut out and ready to sew. They are Sailboat pants and I am going to make them out of some Navy and White Ticking gifted to me by the lovely Christy.
I’m not sure what buttons to use, I had my heart set on the vintage red buttons, but I need 4 so that’s not going to work, I am not sure about the navy ones either, perhaps I’ll just have to go to a fabric shop and buy some today!

Like many other bloggers, I plan to offer an Auction for the Queensland Flood Relief Appeal Auctions. The Auction will be held on Tuesday the 18th of January, and it will be for one of my handmade soft toys, plus some other crafty stuff. I hope my tiny contribution can help to make a difference in helping those affected by the devastating floods in Queensland and Northern NSW. If you want to join in and hold an Auction contact Toni.

Well hi there, this morning I’m celebrating a belated 1st blogiversary… it was actually the 8th of March but I completely forgot. I can’t believe its been a year as this time has seemed to have flown by.
Its been a year that has seen me sell my softies, and start writing my own patterns, and I’ve met (both in person and online) loads of lovely people through blogging.
Blogging and crafting has helped me develop an personal identity (other than Mum) for myself, and given me the hope that I might be able to stay away from my ‘day job’ for a while longer. That said though, in the last year my photography skills haven’t improved, and a fair bit of time is swallowed up by the computer these days.
Anyhow I’m looking forward to another year of more of the same. I hope this hasn’t been too soggy. Thanks for reading and commenting over the last year!

Gratuitous random bunny and Hamish pic

As always this week I am working on Cowies. These are some of the last ones you are likely to see because after this batch is complete I won’t be making any more for a while. The vintage red and black scarf and foam balls are going to become a new necklace.

In the boys’ creative space today is playdoh. I suspect there is also some in H’s stomach as well judging by the green around his mouth. Oh well…

Happy Thursday Creative spacers…
Thanks also to Kirsty as always for hosting.
